The decision to not use the number IV on the latest series of the game is quite reasonable. Focus on this game tells again the story about Kratos revenge for the death of his family. This game is not the sequel but a prequel of the series GOD III, and certainly we will see Kratos figure is very irritable.
Because it is a prequel of the game ever, so that makes this game just like a spin-off to treat a longing for the figure of Kratos. But if we want a sequel to this game, there is no story more they could make, because all the gods are dead and kratos themselves have ended his life so it is not possible to proceed again.
